There is an oral history passed down to me from some Comanche elders that the red, yellow, and blue in the Comanche Nation's flag are derived from the colors prominent in a type of Spanish officer's uniform like the one depicted in His New Coat. Jackets like this were prized by Comanche warriors and once attained were worn with pride."
