Woody Big Bow painted this young lady riding her horse over 75 years ago. There is some damage to the painting. Woody was the grandson of the last hereditary Chief of the Kiowa, Chief Big Bow. Woody designed the Thunderbird insignia for the 45th Infantry Division. His work is in the permanent collections of many institutions, including the Smithsonian Institution National Museum of the American Indian, the Gilcrease and Philbrook museums in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and the Oklahoma Historical Society in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
