The Hunter

$850.00

April Holder’s The Hunter honors the men in her tribe: “This piece is about the struggle for survival and the hunt for knowledge of Native American elder men. In my tribe, our men seek wisdom in all things, but in contemporary times it is becoming difficult to maintain traditional knowledge. This work is about the relationship to our past while living in the changing world around us.” April lives in Oklahoma. She is a graduate of the Institute of Ameican Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Her work is included in the permanent collections of the Red Cloud Heritage Center in Pine Ridge, South Dakota, and the Imago Mundi in Treviso, Italy.
