Surrounded by Indians

$2,000.00

David Bradley is an enrolled member of the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe.  Many of his paintings convey political and humorous messages.  Bradley has been described as a postmodern, avant-garde Native American artist.

Bradley’s paintings often tell a story.  In Surrounded by Indians, James McNeil’s Whistler’s Mother is surrounded by Native American imagery, including what appears to be an R.C. Gorman painting, the Mona Lisa with an eagle feather, Navajo weaving on the rug, and a Pueblo vessel in the corner.
