Into the Wind


Mars Biggoose conveys both beauty and struggle going into the wind. Marrs lived in Oklahoma. He graduated from the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Mars designed the Great Ponca Seal of Oklahoma. His work is in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C.. The Native American Church greatly influenced Biggoose’s work and his work often depicts its spiritual aspect. His work has been described as poetic in color and form-free flowing spiritual art.
