Joshua Garrett and Nicole Hatfield Curtis created Elk Teeth during a live paint session in 2014 at the Jacobson House in Norman, Oklahoma. Garrett, also known as Dead Feather, is a self taught artist who considers creating art that reflects his Native culture as a form of witchcraft, like a shaman who could shapeshift and transform. NiCole Hatfield Curtis lives in Oklahoma. Her work is included in the permanent collection of the Comanche National Museum in Lawton, Oklahoma.
