The buffalo represents Tom's Otoe Missouria mother's buffalo clan. The buffalo character is in his home, which in Tom's mind would have the period authentic art work of TC Cannon.The buffalo sees himself in the TC Cannon painting, hence the "Doppelganger" title. Tom lives in Oklahoma. Much of his art is influenced by pop culture and comics. He has won numerous awards for his art, including awards at the Santa Fe Indian Market and Artesian Arts Festival.
