Robert Redbird Sr. (1939-2016) painted to preserve and communicate the Kiowa culture. Oklahoma governor Brad Henry declared June 7, 2003 “Robert Redbird Day” to celebrate Redbird’s accomplishments.
Redbird is particularly well-known for his robed female figures. This bright, bold painting of three men is a departure from much of his work.
