Untitled (Buffalo) Brent Learned

Brent Learned’s impressionistic technique produces, to borrow a President Bush phrase, a “kinder and gentler” take on a Native American portrait. Brent paints under his Arapaho name, Haa-Naa-Jaa-Ne-Doa, to honor his mother. Brent was born and raised in Oklahoma. His work is in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian Institute National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C., the Cheyenne/Arapaho Museum in Clinton, Oklahoma, and the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
