Strong Hearts

Robert Martinez was born in Wyoming on the Wind River Reservation. He grew up a part of many different cultures, as his lineage is Spanish, Mexican, Scots-Irish, French Canadian and Northern Arapaho. Martinez was raised on the Wind River Reservation and his native heritage remains a source of inspiration for his work. Martinez has shown his work throughout the United States and has won numerous awards. He has been awarded Wyoming’s highest award for the arts, the Wyoming Governor’s Award.
