Robby McMurtry was an illustrator, novelist, painter, and playwright. He was also an art teacher who helped numerous young people through his work with Indian youth groups in eastern Oklahoma. McMurtry exhibited his work at many locations, including the Grand Palais in Paris, France.
Robby painted this piece in 1988. The Creek Nation used the painting to create a poster celebrating the 1988 Oklahoma Indian Market at the Creek Council House. This framed poster is also for sale on the WYLD website.
