David Williams, whose native name was Tos-que, studied art at the Indian Art Center in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and later at Bacone College. He had numerous exhibitions at museums throughout the United States, including the Laguna Gloria Art Museum in Austin, Texas. Williams’ work is part of the permanent collections of many museums, including the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C. In 1981, Williams was forced to stop painting after losing his eyesight to diabetes.
