Scalp Tickets Not Cultures

$1,000.00

Frank Buffalo Hyde’s pop art slant on what has, can, and should be scalped combines humor with a serious subject. Frank’s father, sculptor Doug Hyde, served two tours in Vietnam and was exposed to Agent Orange. Frank was born without part of his right arm and leg and developed the identity of what he calls a “natural-born veteran.” Frank’s specialty is pop art that reinterprets contemporary culture – particularly as it relates to modern Native Americans. Frank is a graduate of the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico and the Santa Fe Institute. Frank’s work is included in numerous public collections, including the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C., the Iriquois Museum in Cobleskill, New York, and the Office of the Japanese Ambassador to the United States. Frank lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
