Red Dancer

$800.00

Bobby C. Martin’s Red Dancer is based on a photo he took of a dancer in her jingle dress regalia at a powwow. The color scheme is influenced, believe it or not, from the sky and desert colors in the movie Lawrence of Arabia. Bobby is an artist/educator/facilitator deeply influenced by his Muscogee (Creek) heritage. He is a Professor of Visual Arts at John Brown University, and has been featured in numerous group and solo exhibitions, the most recent being a one-person exhibition entitled But You Don’t Look Indian… Bobby has curated several exhibitions, including the national touring exhibition entitled Return from Exile. His work is in the permanent collection of numerous museums, including the Philbrook Museum and Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma and the Hood Museum of Art at Dartmouth College.
