Ready and Waiting

$300.00

Tillier Wesley was a self-taught artist. He began to paint after receiving a gift of paints from a lady in his church. Wesley’s work was included in numerous exhibitions, including exhibitions held at the Aspen/Snowmass Celebration for the American Indian, the American Indian Arts Festival in Houston, Texas, and the Red Earth Festival in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Wesley described this piece as follows: “Once horses were bred not for monetary value but pride of ownership and service. The purpose of this horse was to carry his rider into battle. Having done this many times before, this horse is ready and waiting.” Ready and Waiting was originally painted in 1984. This print was created by the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth, Texas.
