Bill Rabbit (1946-2012) was a self-taught Oklahoma artist. He was accepted into the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, but chose instead to enlist in the United States Army, and served in Vietnam.
Rabbit earned numerous awards for his art. He was designated as a Cherokee National Treasure, as well as a Master Artist by the Five Civilized Tribes Museum.
Look closely at Magic, and you can see that Rabbit extends the painting over the matting up to the frame.
