Mars Biggoose creates an image of what we all need from time to time – a guardian who watches over us when we are alone on the trail. Mars Biggoose lived in Oklahoma. He graduated from the Institute of America Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He designed the Great Ponca Seal of Oklahoma. His work is in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian in Washington D.C. The Native American Church greatly influenced Biggoose’s work and his work often depicts its spiritual aspect. His work has been described as poetic in color and form-free flowing spiritual art.
