Buffalo Dance

Blackbear Bosin, who was essentially a self-taught artist, combined Southern Plains flat style painting with surrealism. His work is contained in numerous public collections, including the Denver Art Museum and the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The original Buffalo Dance, watercolor on paper, is in the Philbrook Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It won second place in the Plains Indian category at the 1947 Philbrook Indian Annual contest.
