Yellowman, aka Bennie Nelson, is a self-taught artist known for his dynamic acrylics and intricate watercolors. Nelson’s artistic career spans over 50 years, and includes both painting and acting. Nelson’s paintings have won awards at numerous shows, including the Heard Museum show in Phoenix, Arizona, Red Earth in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Eiteljorg Museum show in Indianapolis, Indiana. He has acted in the Longmire television series and also appeared in the movies In Plain Sight and Swing Vote, among others. Nelson is also an avid public speaker and advocate concerning Native American rights, traditions, history, and art.
