Robert Taylor

Robert Taylor is a self-taught Oklahoma artist whose work has been strongly influenced by Paul Pletka, Karl Bodmer, Oscar Howe, and the surrealistic and symbolistic movements. He often uses distortion, such as small heads and enlarged bodies and hands, as symbols. Taylor has exhibited and received awards from the Trail of Tears exhibition at the Cherokee National Museum in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, the Five Civilized Tribes Museum in Muskogee, Oklahoma, and the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.
