Kiowa artist R.W. Geionety lives in Oklahoma. He is a self-taught artist although when he was young he watched his father, noted artist George Geionety, paint by the light of a kerosene lamp. Geionety served in the United States Marine Corps and helped redesign the 3d Marine Division logo. He won the coveted Grand Award at the 2012 Red Earth Festival in Oklahoma City.
