Craig George is a graduate of the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Although he currently lives on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona, he grew up in Los Angeles, home to the largest off-reservation Indian population in the country. The scenes depicted in much of his art are based upon actual places and scenes in Los Angeles.
