Pawhuska II

Pawhuska II was an Osage Chief in the early 1800s. Matthew Bearden took an old black and white photograph of the chief and created a starkly realistic image of the Osage chief. Matthew lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His work is included in the permanent collections of the Oklahoma Supreme Court and the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame. Matthew is a graduate of the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
